Fish Soup (Ukha)

Fish, Potato, Onion, Carrot, Millet, Cream (optional), Butter, Water

Ukha is a classic light fish soup simmering mild fish with onion, carrot, potato and a little millet — easy to digest and rich in essential nutrients. It's a comforting, nourishing bowl for babies from around 8 months. Cook until soft, remove any bones carefully, and serve warm.

Ingredients

  • Any fish100 g
  • Onion20 g
  • Carrot50 g
  • Ghee butter1 tsp
  • Potato1 medium
  • Water800 ml
  • Cream 20% (optional)30 ml
  • Millet10 g

Instructions

    Carefully remove bones from the fish and cut into cubes.

    Peel and finely chop the onion. Grate the carrot using a fine grater. Cut the potato into small cubes. Rinse the millet.

    Lightly sauté the fish, onion, and carrot in ghee for about 3-4 minutes. Then add all other ingredients, except for the cream, and cook for 10 minutes.

    Add the cream and cook for another 10 minutes. Adding cream is optional.

    After one year, add salt to taste.
