Lentil Pizza
Red lentils, Garlic, Water, Oil, Tomato, Cheese, Meat (optional)
Lentil pizza uses a protein-rich red-lentil base instead of dough, topped with tomato, cheese and optional meat — a clever gluten-free take that toddlers love from around 10 months. The lentils add fibre and plant protein. Bake until set and golden, then cool and cut into easy-to-hold slices.
Ingredients
- Red lentils (dry)50 g
- Water50 ml
- Oil (any kind)1 tsp
- Garlic1 clove
- Tomato20 g
- Cheese20 g
- Meat (optional)20 g
Instructions
- 1
Soak the lentils in cold water overnight. Rinse well and place in a blender with water, oil, and the garlic clove. Season with salt to taste and blend until smooth.
- 2
Pour the mixture into a well-heated pan over medium heat. Bake the pizza base for 3-4 minutes on each side.
- 3
Transfer the base to parchment paper and add your toppings. You can use any toppings; since I am cooking for a 2-year-old, I used turkey ham with clean ingredients, but you can use any boiled meat.
- 4
Place the pizza in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F) and bake for 5-7 minutes.
