Unusual Rice Porridge
Rice, Broccoli, Water, Oil, Dried Garlic, Egg
This unusual rice porridge stirs raw broccoli and egg into soft rice for a savoury, green-flecked bowl that's filling and balanced. It's a clever way to add greens to a grain dish for babies from around 8 months. Cook until the rice is soft and the egg set, then serve warm.
Ingredients
- Rice60 g
- Broccoli (raw)60 g
- Water400 ml
- Dried garlic1 tsp
- Egg1 pc
- Any oil1 tbsp
Instructions
- 1
Rinse the rice well, cover with water and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes until half-done; since rice varies, check for doneness.
- 2
Dice the broccoli and add it to the rice along with the raw egg and dried garlic (you can omit these; the recipe is suitable for 7mo+). Mix well and simmer for another 8 minutes over medium heat.
- 3
Add the oil and lightly mash the finished porridge with a potato masher. For children over one year old, add salt to taste.
